I. Packaging Method
The pillow packaging machine adopts horizontal packaging. The packaging material wraps around the product horizontally. The sealing is completed through heat sealing or cold sealing technology, forming a packaging shape similar to a pillow, usually with a three-side sealing structure. Vertical packaging machines, on the other hand, perform vertical packaging. The roll packaging material is first formed into a vertical cylinder shape under the action of the forming machine. Then, the product is filled into the cylinder from the top and sealed longitudinally and laterally. Common packaging forms include three-side sealing and four-side sealing.
Ii. Applicable Products
The pillow packaging machine is suitable for regular-shaped and certain length block and strip products, such as bread, biscuits, soap, small toys, etc. For some soft or fragile products, they can also be packaged and protected by using trays or inner linings. Vertical packaging machines are more suitable for granular, powdered and highly fluid materials, such as grains, milk powder and seasonings. They can also package small block products, but their adaptability to large and irregularly shaped products is relatively poor.
Iii. Work Efficiency
In terms of production efficiency, the packaging speed of pillow packaging machines can generally reach 20 to 200 packages per minute, depending on the product specifications and equipment configuration. They are suitable for medium and low-speed, medium and small batch production scenarios. Vertical packaging machines have a relatively faster packaging speed. Some high-speed models can package over 300 packages per minute, making them more suitable for large-scale and continuous production. They have obvious advantages especially in industries with high production capacity requirements such as food and chemicals.
Iv. Equipment Structure
The pillow packaging machine has a relatively complex structure, including a film feeding system, a film pulling mechanism, a sealing and cutting device, a product conveying mechanism, etc. It occupies a large area and the equipment debugging and maintenance are relatively complicated. The vertical packaging machine has a relatively compact structure, mainly composed of a forming device, a metering device, sealing components, etc. The vertical layout makes it occupy less space, and its installation and operation are relatively simple. The equipment failure rate is low, and the maintenance cost is also relatively low.
V. Packaging Materials and Costs
The pillow packaging machine is suitable for various packaging materials, such as plastic film, composite film, paper-plastic composite materials, etc. The cost of packaging materials is relatively high, and due to the need to wrap the materials horizontally during the packaging process, the material loss is relatively large. Vertical packaging machines mainly use cylindrical packaging materials, which have a high material utilization rate and relatively low cost. When used in large-scale production, the material cost advantage is even more obvious.
